The Centre d’histoire de Sciences Po is organising a conference on the PSU (Unified socialist party) on the 8th and 9th of November. On this occasion the Library proposes an exhibition and an electronic dossier dedicated to the history of this political party from its creation in 1960 to its dissolution on the 24th of Novemebr 1989 – see the link above.

Vous êtes nombreux à vous plaindre que les nouvelles salles sont trop bruyantes et vous avez raison – difficile de travailler dans le brouhaha. Soyez sympas – parlez au café, rigolez dans le hall ou piqueniquez dans le jardin, mais dans l’intérêt de tous respectez le silence dans les salles de travail !

Many of you have quite rightfully complained to us about the noise in our new reading rooms – it is difficult to work in such a loud hubbub. You are welcome to chat at the café, laugh in the hall and picnic in the garden, but please be silent in the library !

Des traces de mayonnaise sur les touches de clavier et des traces de coca sur les tables – berk!
On voulait bien favoriser des nouveaux usages de la bibliothèque, mais sans aller jusqu’à l’ambiance MacDo.
SVP ne mangez pas et ne buvez que de l’eau en bouteille dans les nouvelles salles toutes belles !

We did want to favour new ways of using the library, but we did not actually think of going quite as far as that.
Please refrain from eating and please drink only bottled water in the beautiful new reading rooms !
