BOY supports feminism

Hello Girls Girls community! Let’s talk about empowering lyrics that talk about feminism. We all know well many examples from American musicians, Beyoncé’s songs do and we debate if Nicki Minaj’s lyrics are really supporting feminism or not. Let’s cross the ocean to see what’s happening in Europe.

A Swiss-German pop duo “BOY”  from Zurich and Hamburg, Valeska Steiner and Sonja Glass, have some amazing songs that empower us women! Let’s take an example of  the song “Boris” that talks about power relations between men and women and how women stand up and speak out for themselves. The song has a slightly sadness touch in it as it points out some truth that happens to women every now and then but at the same time it strangely empowers us all. Let’s watch the video and sing along the lyric now!

He said baby,
Come up to the office
You sang at my party
I owe you some money
You owe me your lips
I’m gonna give tips
I heard your boyfriend is out of town

Baby,
Aren’t you hungry
I could feed you cookies
I could get my car keys
Oh what a cute dress
But right now it’s useless
I heard your boyfriend is out of town

I said you should get out of town too
I said you should get out of town too

He said baby,
I know you like me
You know everyone does
Really I’m serious
We could have real fun
And we’re only young once
I heard your boyfriend is out of town

Baby,
Where are you going
Don’t be such a diva
You can’t just leave now
Come back don’t bore me
You can’t just ignore me
Isn’t your boyfriend out of town?

I said yes,
And you should get out of town too
I said you should get out of town too
I said you should get out of town too

He said baby,
Come up to the office
You sang at my party
I owe you some money
You owe me your lips
I’m gonna give tips
I heard your boyfriend is out of town
