JACLYN SHIN for HIPSTERDOM
This post will definitely not talk about Psy.
Although, I will tell you some great Gangnam places for you to visit.
All information are based on my previous experience since I am actually from Gangnam.
So this is the Seoul map and the yellow part is the Gangnam areas.
Of course, if you want to experience more traditional and/or more young vibes, you can go to the old downtowns and Mapo-gu where the Hong-dae culture truly fascinates many foreigners and young people. The district is one of the richest in Korea, with modern upscale lifestyle. Most of the entertainment companies are located in Gangnam, together with famous hair salons, plastic surgery, luxury flagship stores, galleries, international schools, embassy residents and high-rise residential buildings.
1. A By Bom (91-3, Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu)
Want a nice haircut while the staff provides you with some amazing complimentary brunch and pastries and a cup of warm latte? Only in Korea, not in Paris.
2. Y1975 ( 91-3 Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu)
It’s one of the newest bars at the moment. Great ambiance, with amazing cocktails and real sharks in the aquarium. Have you ever been to a bar like this ?
3. Saebyok-jib (129-10, Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu)
Do you like Korean bbqs and assorted grilled meat ? Right next to a famous club, there is this place called Saebyok-jib which is open 24h and they have one of the best Korean bbqs and grills. A place that is open 24 hours long to give you the best grilled meat is only in Korea, of course.
This post was mainly about Cheongdam-dong in Gangnam district, so stay tuned for the next article, it will give you some good address in Apgujeong-dong!
