In his Dominus Mundi, Monateri provides an alternative understanding of political modernity. His approach revolves primarily around the demonological origins of sovereignty. Against a Schmittian and Weberian viewpoint, he conveys the importance of the demonological turn by which the old serpent that is the Leviathan could take the form of a political saviour in the context of the fading away of the old roman Dominus Mundi. His analysis heavily focuses on this demonological embodiment of sovereignty as well as on the disembodied nature of the Dominus Mundi acting as a wandering ghost in the contemporary global order.
