On Thursday, 22 June 2017, the long-expected Pilagg roundtable on the cross-border jurisprudence took place at the Sciences Po Law School alongside with the Intensive Doctoral Week. Overall, eighteen panelists from the renowned universities including Osgoode Hall Law School (Toronto, Canada), University of Luxembourg, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre, Brazil), UCL (London, United Kingdom), Saint Joseph University (Beirut, Lebanon), and also French universities l’Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, Université de Lorraine or, of course, Sciences Po participated to the discussion. The roundtable was moderated by Professors Horatia Muir Watt and Diego Fernández Arroyo and the participants debated hot-potato topics of cross-border jurisprudence like the transformation of the private international law, necessity of interdisciplinarity and novel teaching methods.
Overall, the Pilagg roundtable has constituted a gateway for the further cooperation among the participants, who will contribute to the Global Case-Study Book that is being prepared under the direction of Professors Muir Watt and Fernández Arroyo.
